CTT wants to remain at the forefront of the national e-commerce ecosystem.

Ship4you contributed to the growth trend in this sector.

Ship4you was one of the 40 companies surveyed in a market study on the growth of e-commerce in Portugal in 2017, which was disseminated last 9th November at the 3rd CTT E-Commerce Day. Although it has not grown as fast as most countries in Southern Europe, e-commerce rose by 12.5% in 2017 in Portugal, two percentage points higher than in 2016, to reach a total of €4.145 billion, meaning that four out of ten Portuguese buy online.

At the event, Alberto Pimenta, director of e-commerce at CTT, stressed that it “was committed to continue leading the development and construction of the national e-commerce ecosystem”. The E-Commerce Day report notes that people make 15.2 purchases per year, 4 more than in 2016 (33%), spending €51.49 on average per purchase. The average number of articles bought per purchase is 2.1 and six out of ten shoppers buy online once or more times per week (up 17% on 2016).
